In 2013 I was lucky enough to get recruited as a Natural Communities Trainee. I spent the year as a sponge, soaking up as much information as I could which was passed to me from all the knowledgeable and supportive people I worked with. This was the year I learned about all the varied work TCV do and I was inspired.
After an interview where I jumped about dramatising a dragonfly catching pray as it flies (I don’t even think it was a question) I was lucky enough to be employed by TCV and got involved with a vast variety of groups, projects, events and met some fabulous people along the way.
I have now come around full circle, I had the privilege of coordinating TCV’s Natural Talent programme (a trainee scheme to inspire a new wave of conservationists, learning about lesser known species and habitats- looking out for the underdogs of the natural world) and now supporting our TCV WildSkills trainee programme (a trainee scheme for young people to gain skills and become super employable in the conservation sector).
