I started with TCV as a Volunteer Officer in 2014. I was working in the environmental consultancy and after months of bliss solitude on the hills I wanted to shift back and do something more meaningful. That’s how I decided the best way to help protect that beautiful nature was to connect with other humans.
I was based in the Glasgow office for 7 months. I was part of the mid-week group but was also welcome to join other projects! The Senior Project Officers were very supportive – I enjoyed the trust and confidence they put into us.
I had been volunteering for many organisations in the past and was very impressed with TCV in the amount of training I was able to receive as well as all the help and support from peers.
They kindly let me be part of the hard-working team until my wee bum was ready to become the wild child I have now…!
I was allowed back into the team with a Senior Project Officer position in 2017 with a blank canvass type of project in the North West of Glasgow and I am now working on the Wild Ways Well project in Cumbernauld – having found a healthy balance between wild places and people!
